About Farmers Arms
Farmers Arms is recognised as one of Queensland’s oldest continuously licensed pubs, with roots dating back to 1863.
The original hotel operated in the Cabarlah area (then known as Five Mile Camp) and served as an important stop for travellers and locals along the New England Highway. After the first building was destroyed by fire in 1902, the present hotel was built on a nearby site around 1904 and has continued to trade ever since.
Today Farmers Arms still offers classic Queensland country hospitality — good food, cold drinks, friendly service, and a genuine sense of history. Whether you’re stopping in for a meal, meeting friends, or simply enjoying a quiet drink in the beer garden or by the fireplace, you’ll find a warm welcome.
We are happy to accommodate seniors, groups, and functions. Bookings are recommended.
